2014 Caislén an Pápa

The Wine
{Pronounced Cush-len} Our take on a traditional Châteaunuf-du-Pape. This Grenache-forward blend has notes of mineral, wet stone, strawberry and bay leaf on the nose. The long finish plays out notes of cherry, espresso and lingering spice.

The Vineyards
44% Grenache Noir – Meek Vineyard – Yakima Valley
22% Mourvèdre – Meek Vineyard – Yakima Valley
14% Syrah – Meek Vineyard – Yakima Valley
13% Cinsault – Meek Vineyard – Yakima Valley
7% Counoise – Meek Vineyard – Yakima Valley

The Winemaking
The Syrah was fermented whole cluster (no destemming or crushing). All other varieties were destemmed and fermented whole berry. All wines were aged in neutral French oak (no new barrels were used).
